How do businesses start? They offer a service or skill or product to the marketplace. They gain a few clients make a few sales and they’re off. Yes, it's hard work and stressful you’re a business owner. You have freedom and flexibility. Until you don’t. Unfortunately, many business owners don’t have the skills to grow. So, it’s fun, stressful, hard work, overwhelming and tiring all at the same time. Some business owners do well, others just end up with a job, and some don’t make it while others just plod along. All the time we persist. We are so persistent because we know in the end persistence pays off. However, if you have your ladder against the wrong wall, persistence is only going to keep the ladder in the same place. If you are going to make the most of your opportunity you need help. You need feedback and you need a "brains trust” a tested business plan. No one is self-made, everyone has help from others to succeed.

We all need fuel. Without the assistance, advice, and inspiration of others, the gears of our mind grind to a halt, and we’re stuck with nowhere to go. I have been blessed to find mentors and idols at every step of my life, and I’ve been lucky to meet many of them.
